Revised: January 2006

This form is for use only by Texas Higher Education Network (THEnet) subscribers and the UT System Network (UTSN) members.

The UT System Office of Telecommunication Services (OTS) is the domain name registration authority for the Reverse DNS Lookup in-addr.arpa domains for network numbers obtained from THEnet. See What is Reverse DNS Lookup? for more information. This form must be completed to register, modify or delete a domain name in the in-addr.arpa domain for network numbers obtained from OTS.

1. Select Operation to Perform

Select the type of operation you wish to perform.

2. Network Numbers to Register

This form is designed for registering the in-addr.arpa domains for either a single /24 network number or a contiguous range of network numbers if you have been assigned a /23 or larger block. Because of this, you specify the starting network number and, if applicable, the ending network number, rather than the in-addr.arpa domains themselves. In other words, do not reverse the network numbers when you enter them into this form. Enter the numbers in their normal form, i.e. 206.76.1.0 rather than 1.76.206. The proper in-addr.arpa domain names will be constructed from the first three octets of the network numbers you specify. If you need to register different name servers for different in-addr.arpa domains within a subnetted /23 or larger block, then you must submit multiple copies of this form.

3. Technical Contact Information

The technical contact is responsible for resolving technical problems associated with the domain and for sending updates about the domain to OTS. The technical contact may also be responsible for delegating hosts within this domain.
